Statue of Mohammed Ali
An equestrian bronze of Mohammed Ali stands in Mohammed Ali Square in the Alexandria Mansheya district. Mohammed Ali Pasha, the founder of modern Egypt, is the one the statue honors and it was unveiled in 1873. French sculptor Henri Alfred Jacquemart crafted the ruler on horseback, revealing his strength and the role he had as leader of his country symbolizing Egypt is modern growth in the 19th century thanks to European influence.
