There is a huge pulpit next to the niche made of ebony wood, and there is also the Koran chair, and this chair is very luxurious. When you go to the other side of the mosque, you will find six doors that are colored doors that lead you to the graveyard.

The history of the Al-Rifai Mosque.
If you read about the history of this mosque, , you will know that the origin of the mosque was a primitive mosque with a tomb for the sheikh called Ali Al-Rifai.

After building, the mosque was named after another one called Ahmed Al-Rifiai who was buried in Al-Iraq Sheikh Ahmad Al-Rifai was born in Iraq and he memorized the Holly Qur’an and learned knowledge while he was very young.

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Rifai wrote a group of books and the author of the idea of establishing the mosque was Mrs. Khoshyar, a Turkish lady, and she was the wife of Ibrahim Pasha, the son of Muhammad Ali, the founder of modern Egypt, and she was the Khedive Ismail mother She was known as Al walda pasha. This woman lived in Garden City area.

Who is the engineer who designed Al-Rafi’i Mosque?
He was Hussein Fahmy Pasha, who was the governor of Alexandria and this person married the daughter of Muhammad Ali Pasha. He was a very cultured person and he read many books and traveled to France until he joined the Military School as well as joined the School of Higher Engineering in Paris and that was a great achievement.

He returned to Egypt and was the governor of Suez, then he was the deputy of the Ministry of Endowments, and in this period, he designed the Al-Rifai Mosque, and then Construction stopped for 25 years, then a person called Max Pasha complete the construction of the mosque. this designer lived in Egypt in 1890 .

He was responsible for building and maintaining the Islamic and Coptic monuments in Egypt.
